Ol' Dennis Hopper kicked the bucket this morn. Pour out a 40 for him - Pabst Blue Ribbon, preferably, and make sure it's cold because warm beer makes him puke. Dude was one of my favs. Check out some of Mr. Hopper at his finest:

Fan of David Lynch or not, there is no denying that Mr. Hopper's performance in Blue Velvet was beyond fucking epic. For my money there is no better bad guy in the history of cinema than Frank Booth - such a sick, vile and deranged fuck. Beautiful.

And of course, one of my favorite scenes of all-time, from my favorite movie of all-time: True Romance. So good.

I'm really digging this series. It's definitely hard to watch in parts, but it's real. Really fucking real. Why doesn't our mainstream media do stuff like this? Can't you see Katie Couric stomping in the slums of Liberia? Nope, me neither. Anderson Cooper on the other hand, that dude's pretty bad A.

VBS.tv has been producing some amazing work as of late, and this series is sure to follow that trend. I'm predicting a Pulitzer for this work. Believe it. Wow, shit is raw.

On a related note, if you have yet to read "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier" I would recommend doing so fucking stat. One of the best books I have read to date. Do it.

No Country for Old Men

Finally viewed No Country for Old Men and boy am I glad I did. Can't remember enjoying a film so much in recent memory. Fucking brilliant flick.

I've noticed that this film got a lot of bad reviews online, which surprised me a great deal. A lot of people were left wanting more due to the somewhat abrupt ending. I actually liked the ending. The film was very cerebral, and a lot is left for viewer interpretation, which I like. Very David Lynchesque. Still trying to work out a couple of his films actually.

If you are not the type of person who needs to be spoon fed all of the details and plot points, check this movie out. Otherwise go rent a Michael Bay movie.

True Romance. . .

is by far my favorite movie ever. If you haven't seen it, you should. It was written by Quentin Tarantino, and directed by Tony Scott. I wish Mr. Tarantino would have directed it, but I guess he had to sell the script in order to do "Reservoir Dogs" which worked out pretty well. Here is one of my favorite scenes from the film. Enjoy. Oh, and that is Gary Oldman by the way. Epic performance, even if it didn't last too long.

Planet Terror

Just peeped Planet Terror, and it was either one of the best movies I have ever seen, or one of the worst. Not really sure. Robert Rodriguez and Q. Tarantino are the illest. So so creative. Absurd and distasteful, but genious nonetheless. Loves it.

Optimistic?

Absinthe's new shred flick will be playing @ the McDonald Theatre on Nov. 10. Tickets are 3 duckets. These guys make the best snowboard movies ever, so don't miss it. I can't frickin' wait!!! Here is the teaser.
